We took him to the vet weeks ago. They fixed him up - and we
hoped that he had an intestinal blockage only. We were
encouraged when he gained a little weight.
Today, his health took a turn for the worse and we took him to
the emergency vet. They assured us he was not in pain, but it
was time. Kat & I held him and cried. We told him what a good
boy he was and how we all loved him. And we let him go.
Kat's job is to bury him alongside OK & Silas. My job is to
share this news with you.
bookstore is a special place, in part, because we all share
an authentic experience there. It is real life and true
love. I know that Padric was *ours* and that some of you
will take this hard. Come in for a hug.
We are not
ready to entertain thoughts of another cat. For now, we are
going to focus on Eddy. It's hard to say how he'll respond
to Padric's absence. Come in, play with him & give him some
rest of the staff, and I feel privileged to spend our days
in your company, surrounded by books. We have chosen to
rescue cats & make them part of our lives, knowing that at
some point, we'd feel like this. Goodbyes are tough.
despite this sadness, overall, we are glad. We do what we
love, for those whom we love. Thank you for sharing in this
wonderful life. ~Cinnamon
