What’s New, Delightful – or Making us Raise an Eyebrow

7/8/20: Welcome to our brand-new website! Many thanks to Michael Semrad, of Red Rebel Media for bringing us into the 21st century. We’re excited to offer online opportunities to shop for Used and Rare Books, as well as Book Bag Care Packages and other merchandise. We’re also thrilled to partner with Bookshop.org and Libro.fm and offer you New Books and Audio Books.

(I’ll add the current archive below. That thing is HUGE.)

Events/Calendar
In-store events are postponed for the foreseeable future. We look forward to gathering again when this health crisis subsides. Our goal is to avoid unnecessary risks to keep us all as safe as possible. We miss having events and thank you for your patience as we navigate this brave new world.

Books & Bottles Parties

“Get your friends together, go to your local bookstore and have a book-buying party.”
~Roy Blount, Jr on NPR’s Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me!

On one evening each month, we offer a private party for 10 (minimum) – 20 (maximum people.

If you’d like to host a Private Book Buying Party, watch for reservations to go on sale each January. Party dates are announced about two weeks in advance of the Reservations Sale.

*Reservations are sold first come, first serve in person or by phone.
*The Reservation Fee is a flat $50 and is non-refundable.
*When you make a reservation, you are committing to the party date you choose. Although will make a good effort to reschedule if needed, we may not be able to do so.
*Parties begin at 6:30pm and end at 8:00pm. Many groups choose to continue the celebration at a downtown restaurant, where they can share their new-found treasures.
*All participants must be at least 21 years old
*Cocktails, Non-alcoholic beverages, and a Light Snack are complimentary.
*All participants receive a 10% discount on Used Books.

Birthdays & Special Occasions:
A Books & Bottles Private Book Buying Party is a great way to celebrate!
Often, instead of bringing gifts, people purchase a book or two from the honoree’s stack of books when they purchase their own books. Some people choose to write messages inside the books or enclose a pre-written card.

You are welcome to bring in a cake or other appetizers – just discuss your plans with staff ahead of the party.
